Lipidology: A Canadian Company That Supports Other Canadian Companies

With mounting tensions between the US and Canada regarding trade and tariffs, a groundswell in public sentiment to “buy local” has led customers in both countries to look for ways to support businesses within their own borders. In this context, we wanted to take a moment to explain how Lipidology supports customers and other companies in Canada, while also continuing to build strong relationships with our customers and business partners south of the border.
At Lipidology, we put a lot of thought into how our activities affect people, the
environment and the economy. We're passionate about supporting local Canadian
businesses every step of the way – from Ontario farmers who produce the raw
ingredients that go into our cosmetics to the carriers who deliver the finished products to your door.
Canadian Ingredients that Support Healthy Skin, Healthy Ecosystems and Healthy
Economies
All Lipidology products start with one key ingredient: organic, grass-fed/grass-finished
beef tallow, which we source from dedicated Ontario farmers. Tallow goes into our
balms, soaps, deodorant and all the products that we create right here in Ontario. That
means when you purchase one of our luxurious products, you’re not only treating your
skin to ancestral nourishment, you’re also supporting the hardworking folks who keep
our land thriving. We only source our suet and tallow from farmers who practice organic
and regenerative agriculture, raising their cattle in open pastures.
Several of our products also incorporate Canadian beeswax, which we also source from
producers who practice sustainable beekeeping, providing bees with a healthy
environment to gather their pollen and nectar. Our Rose Balm and Lip Balms get their
sweet sent and humectant properties from this beautiful Canadian beeswax. This clean
wax helps the skin attract and retain moisture.
Have you tried our tallow beer shampoo bars? If so, you’ve also indirectly supported
Canadian brewers and farmers who grow organic malted barley, organic hops and
yeast. The ingredients that go into these bars are sourced from suppliers that have verified GMO FREE and follow organic production guidelines.
Most of our product labels and packaging also comes from Canadian suppliers who are
involved in the manufacturing and sourcing of high quality, recyclable materials. These
companies follow good manufacturing practices and contribute meaningfully to the
Canadian economy.
Our ingredients that originate from other countries support Canadian and international
companies. For example, the USDA certified organic castor oil and other essential oils
that we use in our balms comes to us from a Canadian distributor who imports, stores
and ships these products to us using local carriers.
Finally, once we have handcrafted each product, we hand them over to Canadian
distributors, carriers and logistics companies to ensure your favourite products get to you safe and sound. It’s like a great Canadian relay, and we’re passing the baton straight to your door.
So next time you pamper yourself with Lipidology, know that you're supporting a
network of amazing Canadian businesses as well as our international business that all
have one thing in common: a focus on delivering the highest quality products to
customers who they care about.
