Why I Can Never Go Back to Conventional Soap

I personally stopped using conventional face and body cleansers since we started making our own soap. And I could never go back

Here's what my conventional face cleanser did to my skin throughout my teens and 20s:

I needed to devote almost an hour to my nighttime face routine.

Synthetic cleansers disrupted the PH of my skin. Most face cleansers strip the good bacteria on your face which can lead to accelerated skin aging and skin vulnerability.

The harsh chemicals in my face cleanser made acne worse.

Many cleansers are part of multi step program with 5 or more steps that require you to buy other serums, sprays and tinctures in order for them work 'properly.'

A common step in many face cleansing programs includes a mandatory moisturizing serum due to the acids and alcohols present in the cleanser.

My face cleaner caused scaly and severely dry skin that would flake and peel --- literally all over my pillow.

My cleanser habit led my skin to become progressively greasier and blotchy. When you over-dry the skin, it can overcompensate and produce more sebum.

If I stopped using the cleanser, my face would retaliate and get clogged/break out and go through a healing phase which I thought was withdrawal symptoms from stopping the cleanser.

My commercial face cleanser created a psychological dependency even though it didn't work, due to smart advertising and bogus before and after pictures.

Using tallow soap became an easy 1 step solution. I simply wash my face with the bar and pat dry. Moisturizing after is not necessary but welcomed with our Nude, Emu, Manuka or Rose balm which compliment, never antagonize the skin.

My face actually feels moisturized after I wash with the bar.

Our soap does not disrupt the PH of the skin or the acid mantle.

Our soap does not create a dependency (I can stop using the soap and my skin remains calm).

After washing with our bar, my face is glowy, fresh and even toned.

Tallow soap actually keeps my skin clear.
