Tallow Info

A Different Kind of Skincare

We are going back to a time when humans were more connected to the earth and its animals. When nothing was wasted, everything was utilized.

We have created a skincare line that is simple, natural and primal- just like your skin.

What Is Tallow?

Beef tallow is a rendered form of beef fat that is solid at room temperature. It is made by slowly heating beef fat until it melts and separates from any remaining tissue or water. The resulting liquid is then filtered and allowed to cool, producing a creamy white substance that is full of vitamins and has a long shelf life.

Why Tallow?

Grass-fed organic tallow is a highly nourishing and moisturizing skincare ingredient rich in a combination of absorbable fat soluble vitamins that are absent in seed and plant oils such as vitamins A, B, D, E, K, antioxidants, and fatty acids that can help improve skin texture, reduce inflammation, and enhance skin's natural barrier function.

Reducing Food Waste

Tallow is made by rendering suet which is the fat of cattle or sheep. This is typically the part of the animal that is discarded.

We're helping to reduce food waste by utilizing this incredibly nourishing and healthy fat by turning it into something beautiful.

Sustainability

Sustainability is at the heart of our mission and vision.

We source our product materials from reputable suppliers including farmers and production facilities that have certifications for organic, grass-fed and ethically raised cattle.

We use recyclable packaging manufactured by suppliers that follow good manufacturing practices.

Hydrogenated Oils And Why We Dont Use Them

Hydrogenated vegetable oils are very common in even natural and organic skincare products. They're cheaper than higher quality plant fats such as coconut oil or cocoa butter. We omit hydrogenated vegetable oils as these oils are heavily processed, denatured and can be highly inflammatory.
